A book written by the iconic Ethiopian music director who with passion told the world that Ethiopia has magnificent traditional music and arts by opening an Ethiopian Cultural Museum in Washington DC on 15th an U Street NW and also who established the ” the Blue Nile Group, ” an Ethiopian cultural singers and dancers who toured over 20 cities in 1969 will be presented to the public. Lemma who was the third Director of the” Orchestra Ethiopia ” played an important role in fulfilling some of the policies of President John F. Kennedy in the continental Africa.

According to Little Ethiopia DC’s Cultural Ambassador Matt Andrea who promoted the book ( Yetiopia Musiqa Tarik ) at the June 2013 Ethio-Mixer USA at the Dama Ethiopian Restaurant and Pastries in Arlington said ” the first-ever comprehensive history of Ethiopian music, Yetiopia Muziqa Tarik, by Tesfaye Lemma, has finally been published by a group organized by the publisher of the Ethiopian magazine known as ” Nafqot Ethiopia.” The book covers the Ethiopian music from the Era of Emperor Menelik II (1889-1913) up to the end of the Dictatorial Communist Régime of Colonel Mengistu Hailemariam (1974-1991).
